Key Stage 3
Students take part in a variety of activities to develop their physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Students take on varied roles throughout physical education to develop as a performer, coach and leader. We aim to enthuse, encourage and provide opportunities for all students to progress.
Key Stage 4
All students in key stage 4 take part in a varied PE curriculum, where they experience new activities. KS4 PE is aimed at engaging students to turn on to physical activity for life. The programme of study focuses on developing the performer as a whole, and allows students the opportunity to gain valuable experiences.
Students can take the level 2 BTEC in sport in year 10 and 11. This course is a vocational course which includes units on sport injury, fitness for sport, sports leadership and anatomy & physiology. The course is predominantly internally assessed with two externally assed online exams.
The PE department runs an extensive extra curricular programme at lunchtimes and after school. These change termly so please check the PE noticeboard.
Fixtures against other schools give students the opportunity to put into the practice the things we do in lessons and allows them to fell pride in representing their school.
